Yoga, a practice that has become ubiquitous

Since all the stars have been extolling the benefits of yoga on their bodies and minds, this practice has become a real fashion phenomenon.

Do you read magazines? Not a week goes by without an article like this:

Games on DS, X-box, Wii Console... The giants have long since invested in the niche of sport. Zumba, pilates, fitness... You can now do everything in front of your TV screen. Yoga is no exception to the trend. So forget for a moment Zelda, Super Mario and Just Dance...

Wii Fit U is the essential game for any self-respecting woman who wants to take care of her figure with a minimum of effort (or simply to have a good conscience). And in Wii Fit U, among the 77 activities, there is also a yoga program.

No big change compared to Wii Fit Plus, which already existed on the classic Wii. Only 19 activities have been added. In both cases, yoga is included.

Forget the classic yoga mat, you'll practice on the balance board. This high-tech accessory allows you to analyze an incredible number of parameters, including weight distribution and the position of your center of gravity. This is what allows the virtual coach to determine if the yoga posture is well held.

If you choose to do yoga with this program, you will be able to perform different positions:

Doing yoga on the Wii: the limits

While the Wii will allow you to gently introduce you to yoga, as well as many other activities (aerobics, fitness, not to mention the inevitable mini-games), you may still miss out on the basics of teaching yoga.

Yoga is not gym.

It is not limited to postures and breathing exercises. The goal of yoga is not to lose weight or burn calories. Of course, this form of practice will already bring you many physical benefits and help you relax. However, you will miss out on many other fundamental aspects of yoga.

Yoga is a philosophy of life, based on self-knowledge and living together. It is another way of understanding daily life and learning to live in the present moment. Yoga is also based on letting go.

The learning of yoga allows us to :

• Apprehend differently the relationship to oneself and to others,
• Knowing your body, taking care of it, making it more flexible and experimenting with its limits,
• Master your senses,
• Know how to concentrate and meditate.

So, even if the Wii will help you to practice and discover postures, to really get to know the basics of yoga, don't hesitate to walk through the door of a yoga class. You'll gain a lot. To do yoga, you need to feel and concentrate.

Difficult when one tries to look at the screen to follow the instructions or to check that one is well positioned, at the same time as to carry out the posture?

To develop harmony between body and mind requires being accompanied by a yoga teacher who is a good listener and who will teach you the precepts of the yogis.
